Babson College's men's lacrosse team made history by reaching the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the first time in program history. This achievement was underscored by the recognition of eight players on the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England teams, a program record. The team’s success this season marks a significant milestone in Babson's athletic history.
In women's tennis, senior Matia Cristiani and first-year Sandra Sikharulidze continued their impressive run at the NCAA Division III Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The duo advanced to the semifinals after winning their singles matches and securing a straight-set victory in the doubles quarterfinals. This marks Cristiani's fourth consecutive appearance in both singles and doubles championships, showcasing her enduring excellence in collegiate tennis.
On the men's side, Alexander Merson and Edward Wang made their NCAA Singles Championship debuts but were unable to advance past the opening round. Their participation is notable as they are the first Babson players to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship since 1998, reflecting the growth of the program.
In track and field, Babson athletes achieved significant recognition at the NCAA Championships. Sophomore Amrit Rehal earned Second Team All-America honors with a 13th-place finish in the women's high jump, becoming only the second athlete in program history to receive such recognition. Similarly, graduate student Skyler Mott finished 12th in the men's high jump, marking him as the fourth Babson athlete to earn All-America status. Additionally, both the men's and women's track and field teams celebrated record numbers of athletes receiving USTFCCCA All-East Region honors, with nine athletes from each team recognized for their performances this season.
