Shrivastava Breaks High Jump Record to Lead #17 Men's Track & Field at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The 17th-ranked University of Chicago men's track & field team capped off the final meet of the regular season with eight top-5 finishes at the Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier at Augustana (IL).

Aryan Shrivastava gave UChicago the highlight of the meet as the senior broke the school record in the High Jump, clearing a height of 2.08 meters. His mark was good enough for a first-place finish, and it ranked as the #11 mark in NCAA Division III this season.

Michael Nelson put up the best performance of the day as he earned a second-place finish in the Javelin Throw with a mark of 57.25 meters. His mark topped his previous career-best mark and ranks third-best in UChicago history.

William Floyd also earned a second-place finish in the opening day of competition, clearing the five-meter mark in the Pole Vault once again with a mark of 5.01 meters.

Paul Sackman picked up the final top-3 finish for the Maroons in the meet as the graduate student finished in third-place in the 200m Dash. His time of 21.43 seconds ranks as the third-fastest time in UChicago history.

The Maroons wrapped up their regular season with that meet, and the team will now await to see which individuals qualify for the 2026 Outdoor Track & Field National Championships from May 21-23 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
