**ANNAPOLIS, Md. –**The Army West Point men's track and field team finished in second place at the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Ingram Field.

The men put up an impressive fight, finishing with 199.5 points and 100 points ahead of third place.

Josh Duncanproved to everyone on Saturday that he is the fastest man in the Patriot League, as he won both the 100m and 200m. He was also included in the 4x100m winning quartet. His strong performances earned him Patriot League Highest Point Scorer and Track Athlete of the Meet.

How it Happened

Matthew Palchakkicked off the day for Army with a second-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 17.83m.

Canyon Hallhad performed well in the decathlon, finishing in third with a season-best 6,814 points.

Army had a strong point gathering in the discus, as

Jacob Bowersockwon the event with a mark of 50.30m. Palchak finished fourth with a throw of 46.72m.

Bret Wingardhad a season-best showing in the triple jump, recording a mark of 14.98m to finish in second place. He was .05m off the top spot.

In the 3000m steeplechase,

Nathan Davisand

Jess Joe Augustinefinished first and second to give the Black Knights a good portion of points. Davis finished 8:54.16, while Augustine came across the line in 8:56.88.

In the 4x100m relay, Army's quartet of

Jaxon Hammond,

Owen Lang, Duncan and

Trey McGinnisfinished first with a time of 40.17.

McGinnis also posted a third place finish in the 400m at 47.11.

In the 100m, Duncan posted an impressive 10.37 to finish in first, while Hammond finished second at 10.41.

Freshman

Todd Worthfinished second in the 800m, putting together a time of 1:48.98. Finishing in third was

Ammon Smithat 1:49.62.

Duncan won the 200m by posting a time of 20.63. Lang came in fourth at 21.28.

The Black Knights wrapped up its championship meet by coming in third in the 4x400m with a time of 3:12.56 (McGinnis, Lang,

Owen Hoag,

Kasen Jeitz).
