#2 Women's Tennis Falls to #5 Babson in National Quarterfinals
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The 2nd-ranked University of Chicago women's tennis team fell short in the National Quarterfinal match on Monday afternoon with a 4-0 loss to #5 Babson.

The Beavers came out on the front end in doubles as the #1 doubles team earned a 6-4 win and the #2 doubles team earned a 6-2 win to put the Beavers in front 1-0.
In singles play, the Maroons fell behind early, dropping the first set in five of the six matches.
Isabelle Chong was the lone singles player to earn an opening set win with a 7-6(7-2) victory at #6 singles. The Beavers were able to pull out the win in the second set in three matches to seal the 4-0 victory for Babson.
With the loss, the Maroons cap off their season with an 18-5 record, their fifth consecutive UAA title, and their ninth straight National Quarterfinal appearance. With the team season coming to an end,
Sarena Biria and
Clara Zou will continue their seasons in the Individual National Championships. The opening two rounds of the singles tournament will take place on Friday, May 22, beginning at 9 AM ET.
