CHICAGO -- The 2nd-ranked University of Chicago women's tennis team rolled to a 4-0 sweep of #66 Luther on Saturday morning to open the 2026 NCAA Tournament for the Maroons.

In doubles play, the Norse gave UChicago some problems at the #2 and #3 doubles positions. After a dominant 6-1 victory at #1 doubles by

Oliwia Mikos and

Lauren Khou, the Norse earned their first win of the day, taking the #3 doubles match 6-4. At #3 doubles,

Anika Paul and

Clara Zou struggled early on, but the duo picked up a big break of serve at 4-3 to help seal the doubles point with a 6-3 win.

Paul and

Sarena Biria wasted no time in their singles matches with both players earning victories in just 43 minutes. Biria earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at #1 singles, and Paul won 6-0, 6-1 at #3 singles, giving the Maroons a quick 3-0 lead.

Tina Kintiroglou capped off the victory for the Maroons as she won 6-0, 6-1 at #6 singles, also finishing her match in under an hour.

In the remaining matches, Zou,

Lily Zawaneh, and

Isabelle Chong all won their first sets and were one game away from clinching wins of their own.

With the win, the Maroons improve to 17-4 overall and advance to the third round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Tournament. UChicago will play for a spot in their ninth consecutive National Quarterfinal round on Sunday morning as the Maroons take on the hosts, #19 Gustavus Adolphus, on Sunday at 11 AM CT.
