A total of 34 teams and six individuals will open the tournament on Tuesday, May 19. After the completion of 36 holes on Wednesday, 15 teams will advance to the final two rounds on Thursday and Friday, as well as the top six individuals not represented on the top 15 teams.
CMS is hosting the NCAA Championships for the first time. The Athenas, who finished in third place a year ago and won the national title in 2018, are the No. 7 seed this year after earning an automatic qualification by winning the SCIAC Championship last month. The SCIAC had three teams qualify, as Pomona-Pitzer and Redlands took two of the eight available at-large selections.
Emory, the defending national champion, is the No. 1 seed, followed by NYU and Carnegie Mellon. The NESCAC also had three teams qualify, with Williams seeded No. 4, Amherst No. 5 and Middlebury No. 9.
