CLAREMONT, Calif. - Seniors

Sun Young Byun,

Madeleine Kan,

Mackenzie Mayfield and

Katy Shaw of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced today.

The 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District Swimming and Diving Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The award requires meeting minimum standards of both athletic participation and cumulative grade point average.

Byun, Kan, Mayfield and Shaw were all individual national qualifiers for the Athenas this year. Kan earned the national championship in the 100-yard butterfly and was second-team in the 50 free (ninth), Byun was a first-team All-American in both the 100 fly (sixth) and the 200 fly (second), Mayfield was a second-team All-American in the 200 fly (ninth) and the 100 fly (12th), and Shaw was a second-team All-American in the 1650 (tenth).

Byun, Kan and Mayfield also were voted to advance to the Academic All-America ballot from the district, which will be announced later this month.

CMS finished tenth at the NCAA Championships thanks largely to the performance of the four seniors honored by the CSC.
