Alex Henderson of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team has been recognized with multiple All-America honors, earning first-team accolades from the American Baseball Coaches Association and second-team from D3baseball.com. Henderson, who set a new program record with 22 home runs this season, also achieved the career record for home runs at CMS with 41. His impressive performance included three two-homer games during the postseason, contributing significantly to the Stags’ success in the NCAA Division III Championships. As the Region X Player of the Year and SCIAC Athlete of the Year, Henderson's accomplishments underscore a remarkable season for the Stags.
In women's track and field, Elle Marsyla has been honored as the USTFCCCA West Region Track Athlete of the Year following her national championship victory in the 10,000 meters. This recognition highlights her exceptional performance throughout the season, culminating in her championship win, which solidifies her status as one of the top athletes in the region.
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's tennis team also saw significant individual accolades this week, with Advik Mareedu being named the National Player of the Year by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Mareedu, who repeated as the national champion in singles, finished his senior year with a remarkable 43-2 record. Alongside him, Henry Wilson received the National Rookie of the Year honor, while head coach Paul Settles was recognized as the West Region Coach of the Year. The women’s tennis team celebrated Ananya Sriniketh’s achievement as the ITA National Rookie of the Year, following a stellar season where she compiled a 27-6 record and helped the Athenas reach the NCAA Semifinals. These accolades reflect a strong year for CMS tennis, showcasing the depth of talent within both programs.
