The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team made a significant impact at the NCAA Division III Championships, highlighted by Madeleine Kan's national championship in the 100-yard butterfly. Kan set a program record with a time of 53.57 seconds, breaking her own record set earlier in the preliminaries. This victory marked the first sub-54 second swim in program history and broke the SCIAC record. Sun Young Byun also excelled, earning first-team All-America honors with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard butterfly and a sixth place in the 100 fly. The Athenas' 400-yard medley relay team, featuring Kan, Byun, Nika Makhervaks, and Elyse Newlands, earned first-team All-America honors and set a new program record. Katy Shaw achieved second-team All-America status in the 1650-yard freestyle, while the 400-yard freestyle relay team set another program record, finishing 12th. CMS women's team concluded the meet in ninth place overall.
On the men's side, William Jones of the CMS Stags swimming and diving team earned second-team All-America honors in both the 500-yard and 1650-yard freestyle events. Jones, a first-year, showcased his potential by setting personal bests and securing a 14th place finish in the 500 free and a 16th place in the 1650 free. His teammate, Pierce McShane, also showed promise by improving his personal best in the 200-yard backstroke.
In women's golf, Alisa Ching delivered a standout performance at the Jekyll Island Invitational, tying for second place in a competitive field of 120. Ching's impressive +6 over three rounds included a remarkable -4 round on Saturday, featuring five birdies in her final eight holes.
