In a landmark achievement for Williams College, senior Peter Kane captured the 157-pound title at the NCAA Wrestling Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Kane's victory marks the first individual national championship in the history of Williams wrestling. His triumph capped an unbeaten season, as he extended his record to 30-0. Kane, along with fellow All-Americans Caleb Seyfried and Jamie Evarts, propelled the Ephs to a ninth-place finish, their highest ever at the national level.
The Williams men's ice hockey team concluded its season with a 3-0 loss to No. 5 Utica in the NCAA First Round. Despite the setback, the team celebrated a significant milestone by winning its first NESCAC Championship earlier this season, marking a return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016. Head coach Bill Kangas praised the leadership and resilience of the senior class, who played a pivotal role in the team's success.
The women's ice hockey team advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals following a dramatic 2-1 overtime victory against No. 11 Plattsburgh State. First-year forward Savana Littlewood scored the decisive goal, sending the Ephs to face No. 1 Wisconsin-River Falls. This marks Williams' third appearance in the national quarterfinals and their second NCAA Tournament win in program history.
Williams men's track and field team showcased strong performances at the NCAA National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. First-year Ulysses Junker placed sixth in the long jump, while the distance medley relay team also secured a sixth-place finish. These results reflect the depth and potential of the Ephs' squad as they look ahead to future competitions.
In squash, Williams celebrated several individual accolades as three men's team members—Asher Leavy, Nick Agger, and Himanshu Pannu—earned NESCAC All-Conference honors, with Agger making the First Team. On the women's side, Rhea Pandit and Melanie Wang were recognized for their contributions, earning First and Second Team honors respectively. These accolades underscore the strong performances that led the men's and women's teams to national rankings of No. 12 and No. 14, respectively.
