This victory marks Lehigh's first league title since 2012, propelling them into the NCAA Tournament. Junior captain and standout player Whitlock, who averaged 21.0 points per game this season, is a finalist for the Lou Henson Award. The Mountain Hawks, who were predicted to finish eighth in the preseason poll, showcased a balanced performance with four players scoring in double figures.
The women's basketball team made a strong run to the Patriot League Championship game, overcoming a formidable Navy squad in the semifinals with an 81-76 overtime victory. Edwards and Bramer led the charge with 25 and 23 points, respectively. However, their championship aspirations were dashed by Holy Cross, who bested them 77-70. Despite the loss, Bramer and Edwards were named to the All-Tournament Team.
In women's lacrosse, Lehigh faced a resilient Holy Cross team in a closely contested match, ultimately falling 12-9. Wines led the Mountain Hawks with two goals and four assists, while Snow contributed with a goal and an assist. The team looks to rebound as they continue their league schedule.
Lehigh's men's rowing team opened their spring season against Drexel in Philadelphia. The Mountain Hawks competed in two eights races, with Drexel's boats finishing ahead. Despite the challenging conditions and a canceled fours race, head coach Costas expressed optimism about the team's adaptability and potential.
The track and field team began their outdoor season at the Phoenix Invitational in Elon, North Carolina, with a strong showing in the javelin events. Wil Jaques led the men's team with a winning throw of 58.77 meters, while Jack Wolf impressed in his collegiate debut, finishing second. On the women's side, Meghan Miller placed sixth, highlighting a promising start to the season.
