Lehigh University has appointed Corey Mayer as the new head coach for its field hockey program, marking a significant transition for the Mountain Hawks. Mayer, who previously served as an assistant coach at Villanova University for five seasons, becomes the 10th head coach in the history of Lehigh field hockey. His experience and leadership are expected to enhance the program as it looks to build on past successes.
In men's lacrosse, standout player Checo has been recognized as an Honorable Mention All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Three members of the Lehigh track and field team are set to compete in the NCAA East First Round meet in Lexington, Kentucky, from May 27-30. Abby Klebe returns to the event, aiming to improve her performance in the women's 800 meters after competing last year. On the men's side, senior Wil Jaques will showcase his skills in the javelin, while first-year athlete Konstantinos Panagopoulos will participate in the long jump, representing Lehigh at this prestigious meet.
Grace Ioffe, a junior and coxswain for Lehigh's women's rowing team, has earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League team. This recognition reflects her outstanding academic performance alongside her contributions to the first varsity eight boat, exemplifying the balance of athletics and academics that Lehigh promotes among its student-athletes.
