The day was also highlighted by MIT's second-place finish in varsity fours, as all three Engineer boats raced in grand finals.

At the conclusion of the game, Ashton Axe received the Laurels of Academic Excellence Award which honors the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing in the NEWMAC Championship.

With the win, the Engineers advanced to the title game for the third time in program history and the first since making back-to-back appearances in 2022 and 2023.
