Men's Track and Field Wins Third-Consecutive Ivy Triple Crown at Outdoor Heps

PRINCETON, N.J. – Winning a third-straight Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championship, the Princeton men's track and field team completed its third-consecutive Ivy League Triple Crown on Saturday at home in Weaver Stadium.

Men's Track and Field Wins Third-Consecutive Ivy Triple Crown at Outdoor Heps

**PRINCETON, N.J. –**Winning a third-straight Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championship, the Princeton men's track and field team completed its third-consecutive Ivy League Triple Crown on Saturday at home in Weaver Stadium.

With 219 points, the Tigers bested second-place Harvard by 89 points and claimed eight individual titles, also setting two Ivy League records and another school record.

The outdoor championship is the program's 24th all-time, completing Princeton's 13th Triple Crown.

Jackson Clarkehad a standout day, winning two Ivy titles as he raced to victory in both the 100m and the 200m. After setting a program record in the 200m yesterday, Clarke brought the speed again today with a 10.33 finish in the 100m and a 20.54 finish in the 200. To go along with his two gold medals, Clarke was also awarded Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet.

Joining him in the 100m was

Charlie Sexton, who took second place with a new personal-best finish at 10.42.

Aside from Clarke's 20 points, the Tigers started the day with an early point-grabbing performance in the steeplechase.

With

Brian Bolerleading the charge, the Tigers swept the top five placements in the 3000m steeplechase, combining for 30 team points out of a maximum of 31.

Boler clocked in at 8:39.49 for the Ivy title, and all four other Tigers were right behind him at the finish as

Jackson Shortentook second (8:46.08),

Marcelo ParraRamon took third (8:46.18),

Sebastian Martineztook fourth (8:47.50) and

Franco ParraRamon took fifth (8:48.55).

Both Ramon brothers and Martinez all set new personal bests with the performance, now ranking sixth, seventh and eighth on the all-time program leaderboard.

The Tigers also dominated in the shot put, as

Joe Licatawon with a throw of 18.70m/61-4.25.

Tyler Konopkaplaced fifth with 17.84m/58-6.5, while first-year

Anthony Liakhnovichtook sixth with a new personal best of 17.82/58-5.75.

Concluding the meet with a win, the 4x400 squad of Jonathan York,

Xavier Donaldson,

Kavon Millerand

Joey Gantclaimed the Ivy Championship, setting a new meet record of 3:03.75.

On the track, the Tigers continued to score left-and-right, tallying points in 17 of 22 events - the most of any team in the field.

In the 110m hurdles,

Easton Tantriumphed as he ran a new personal best 13.87 to win his first Ivy Championship as a senior.

Greg Fosterclocked in a hair behind Tan at 13.88 for second, while first-year William Bright set a new personal record as he clocked in at 13.96 for third, ranking fourth in Princeton history.

Yuki Hojoalso added a point to the team score with a sixth place finish at 14.31. The Tigers totaled 25 points in the event.

In a fast 1500m race,

Connor McCormickand

Myles Hoganfinished second (3:39.42) and third (3:39.75).

Collin Boleralso took fifth (3:41.90) as Princeton tallied 16 points.

Jacob Nenowand

Jack Gregorskialso went two-and-three in the 5000m, running 14:29.05 and 14:31.06, respectively.

Gant took second in the 400m dash (45.52), while Donaldson took fourth with a new collegiate best (46.32).

Drew Mruktook third in the javelin with a throw of 63.87/209-6.

In the 4x800, a squad of

Tsedeke Jakovics,

Marcelo ParraRamon,

Weston Brownand

Collin Bolertook fourth at 7:23.92.

Pursuing excellence across event groups, the Tigers showcased a well-balanced, dominant team this weekend. Holding themselves and each other to high standards, the Tigers completed their third-straight Triple Crown - a feat not achieved in over 25 years since Princeton did between 1997 and 2000.

With a special Heps weekend on their home field concluded, the Tigers will now turn their attention towards NCAAs, beginning with the regionals on May 27-30. The full list of regional qualifiers will be released on May 21.
