LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Bates women's track and field first-year

Alisandra Lindos impressed in her first trip to the NCAA Championships, taking 15th place in the outdoor triple jump and earning second team All-America honors for her efforts Saturday at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

Lindos (Westbrook, Maine) bounced back from fouling on her first attempt to leap 38-0.75 (11.60m) on her second try. That mark was good for sixth place in her flight and held up for 15th place overall out of 22 competitors in the event. The top-16 finishers earn All-America honors, with the top eight earning first team All-America and the next eight slotting in at second team.

The NESCAC champion in the outdoor triple jump, Lindos becomes the first Bates rookie to pick up All-America honors in women's outdoor track and field since
