**PROVIDENCE, R.I. –**Five Brown softball student-athletes were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, the organization announced on Tuesday (May 26).

Elli Thompson. In order to be named CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a significant contributor to the lineup, be at least an academic sophomore and have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher.

Zytkewicz Ray has now been named CSC Academic All-District for the third-straight season. It is the first time being named Academic All-District for Hsiao, Borowski, Bettencourt and Thompson.

Hsiao was named Honorable Mention All-Ivy for the fourth-straight season as a senior. She finished her career second in program history in doubles (40), third in program history in at bats (502), runs scored (102), walks (72) and fifth in home runs (21). Hsiao finished her senior season with a .239 batting average and .338 on base percentage. She upped her average to .314 during Ivy League play and posted a .426 on base percentage and .569 slugging percentage.

Zytkewicz Ray was named to the Ivy League All-Tournament Team and led Brown with 39 hits this season, hitting .325. The senior finished her year with eight doubles, two triples, a home run, 13 RBI and 13 runs scored. Zytkewicz Ray had the fewest strikeouts on the team of any qualified hitter with nine strikeouts in 120 at bats.

Borowski was named NFCA First Team All-Northeast Region, Second Team All-Ivy, Ivy League All-Tournament Team and Ivy League Pitcher of the Week twice as a junior. She had 145 strikeouts, the second-most in a single season by a Bear in Brown program history. She also led Brown at the plate with a .343 batting average and 10 doubles.

Bettencourt was named Honorable Mention All-Ivy and was tabbed Ivy League Player of the Week once as a sophomore. Bettencourt led Brown with five home runs and 28 RBI. She finished second on the team with a .333 batting average, 37 hits and 23 runs scored. Bettencourt upped her average to .371 in Ivy League play.

Thompson hit .296 on the year and led Brown with 20 walks. She finished the season with 32 hits, eight doubles and was tied for the team lead with two triples. Thompson also had four home runs and drove in 22, while leading Brown with 30 runs scored. She posted the longest reached base streak of the season on the team at 15 games.
