Softball Earns Five CSC Academic All-District Selections

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago softball team placed five student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-District Team, as released by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon. The five student-athletes earning Academic All-District honors include Natalie Antin, Olivia Cataldo, Audrey Hui, Matilda Nelson, and Nicole Wong.

FULL ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago softball team placed five student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-District Team, as released by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon. The five student-athletes earning Academic All-District honors include Natalie Antin, Olivia Cataldo, Audrey Hui, Matilda Nelson, and Nicole Wong.

Natalie Antin added her second career Academic All-District selection after leading the UChicago offense with 13 doubles, 28 RBIs, 70 total bases, and a .543 slugging percentage. The Los Angeles, California native ranked third in UChicago history with 13 doubles during the 2026 season, trailing only Maeve Garvey (15 in 2017) and Beth Marquardt (14 in 2000) for the most in program history. She also ranked in the top 10 in program history with 28 RBIs during the season. The junior history major is a 2-time NFCA Scholar All-American and a 2nd-Team All-UAA selection in 2025, and she enters her senior season ranked 8th in program history with a .372 career batting average, 8th with 27 doubles, 8th with 74 RBIs, and 10th with 135 career hits.

Olivia Cataldo earned her spot on the Academic All-District team after leading the UChicago offensive attack with 4 home runs and adding 25 hits, 26 RBIs, 10 runs scored, and 11 extra-base hits. The Old Tappan, New Jersey native is a 2-time Academic All-UAA representative, and she was named an NFCA Scholar All-American in 2025. The senior psychology major caps off her University of Chicago softball career with four-year totals of 73 hits, 54 RBIs, 28 runs scored, 19 doubles, 4 triples, and 6 home runs.

Audrey Hui brought home her second career Academic All-District selection after leading the UChicago offense with 48 hits and adding 26 RBIs, 20 runs scored, and 12 doubles. The Cumming, Georgia native ranked 12th in program history with 48 hits in a season, and her 12 doubles were good for the eighth-most among any UChicago softball player in history. The junior economics and media, arts, and design double major is a 2-time NFCA Scholar All-American and a 2nd-Team All-UAA selection in 2025. Hui will enter her senior season with career totals of 117 hits, 65 RBIs, 56 runs scored, and 20 doubles.

Matilda Nelson earned her second career Academic All-District honor after recording 27 hits, 11 RBIs, 9 runs scored, and 8 extra-base knocks during the season. The Lima, Ohio native also led the Maroons with 10 hit by pitches and added 7 walks to boost her on-base percentage. The junior biology major is a 2-time NFCA Scholar All-American and 2-time Academic All-UAA selection, and she will enter her senior season with career totals of 81 hits, 50 RBIs, 46 runs scored, 15 doubles, and 8 home runs.

Nicole Wong picked up the final Academic All-District selection as the lone pitcher to earn a selection for the Maroons. The Arcadia, California native was the ace in the circle for the Maroons as she compiled 8 wins with a 3.49 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP while throwing a team-high 96.1 innings. Wong also struck out a career-high 31 batters and threw 5 complete games during the season. The senior biological sciences major is a 3-time NFCA Scholar All-American and a 2-time Academic All-UAA selection. She wraps up her career with 180.1 innings pitched in 58 appearances and a 4.08 ERA. She also struck out 66 batters en route to 12 wins in 30 starts in the circle.

The University of Chicago softball team finished the season with a 19-20 record and a 7-11 record in UAA play. The Maroons just missed out on their fourth consecutive 20-win season after finishing in 5th place in the UAA.

CSC Academic All-District Team honorees are selected by the national organization based on combined academic and athletic performance. Nominees must have a GPA above 3.50 in at least their sophomore year and have competed in 90% of the team's games or started 67% of the team's games. Pitchers who made 17 appearances or threw 35.0 innings are also eligible for selection.
