Two Bison Named to Men's Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Patriot League Team

**LEWISBURG, Pa.-**Bucknell men's track & field placed third at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships - its highest finish since 2021 and the Bison added two academic laurels to the successful 2026 season with the Academic All-Patriot League Team, announced Wednesday by the conference office. Wade Shomperrepeated as honorees after winning the award in 2025.

LaMontagne, an Electrical Engineering major, conducted an impressive 3.91 GPA in the classroom. He was as impressive in the throws circle. The Bison athlete mined silver in the discus throw in a fitting coda to his career. He departed Bucknell third all-time in the event.

Shomper, an International Relations and Economics major, recorded a sterling 3.78 GPA. He capped his Patriot League career by winning a second consecutive gold medal in the outdoor shot put. The Bison thrower won three gold medals in his career and owns both the indoor and outdoor shot put records at Bucknell. He notched NCAA qualification for the first time this season.

The Bison ship Shomper to the NCAA East First Round on May 27-30 at Lexington, Kentucky. He is the first NCAA qualifier for the men's program since 2019.
