Five Quakers Named CSC Academic All-District for Softball
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – College Sports Communicators released their Academic All-District honorees Tuesday afternoon, with five Quakers earning the honor. Delaney Smith, Gigi Ganje, Alexis Youngren, Ainsley Pemberton, and Morgan Sullivan all earned the honor by excelling in the both the classroom and on the diamond.

Designated player
Delaney Smith and outfielder
Gigi Ganje add Academic All-District to an already stacked 2026 resume. Smith was named Second Team All-Ivy and NFCA First Team All-Region following a career year that included a .432 batting average and a record-45 RBI. Ganje adds CSC All-District to a year where she was named First Team All-Ivy and NFCA Second Team All-Region. Ganje hit .429 with a record-16 home runs and a 1.453 OPS.
Sophomore
Alexis Youngren had a valuable year in her own right, hitting .286 with 19 RBI. Youngren played catcher, third base, shortstop, second base, and outfield for the Quakers this season, becoming an everyday utility player and helping to provide flexibility to the Penn lineup.
Fellow sophomore pitchers
Morgan Sullivan helped Penn on the mound, combining for six wins and 53 strikeouts across 40 total appearances and 101.1 innings pitched.
The contributions of these players helped Penn towards its best win total since 2019.
