**PROVIDENCE, R.I. - **During today's 2026 NCAA DI rowing championship selection show, No. 9 Brown women's crew earned its record 29th consecutive bid to the national championship regatta.

The Bears earned an at-large selection, tying them with the Princeton Tigers and Washington Huskies for most appearances in tournament history, with all three programs qualifying for the event since its inception in 1997.

With seven national championships since the NCAA rowing championship began in 1997, the Bears sit atop the all-time leaderboard in national titles. Washington has the second most titles with five. The Stanford Cardinal won last year's regatta, making it the third time they've won the national championship in their program's history.

Brown has had yet another strong regular season, with victories against No. 17 Columbia, No. 21 Dartmouth, Boston University, and Cornell. In addition, the Bears put together a strong showing at the Ivy Invitational in April, as well as seeing the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity win their respective Grand Finals at the Women's Sprints.

Most recently, the Bruno V8 took home the bronze at the 2026 Ivy Championships this past weekend in Pennsauken, New Jersey. The team as a whole earned a third place finish.

The Bears finished last year's NCAA DI Championship seventh overall in team points, with the Varsity Eight earning a sixth place finish in the Grand Final. The Second Varsity earned a second place finish in the Petite Final, while the A4 secured a third place finish in their Petite Final as well.

The 2026 NCAA DI rowing championship is scheduled to take place from May 29-31 at Lake Lanier Olympic Park in Gainesville, Georgia.
