T&F Qualifies 25 for NCAA East First Rounds
PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania will be well represented at the NCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field East Regional meet next weekend, as 25 athletes—12 on the women's side, 13 on the men's side—will compete with the goal of moving on to the NCAA DI Outdoor Championships in June.
lede photo — track & fieldPHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania will be well represented at the NCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field East Regional meet next weekend, as 25 athletes—12 on the women's side, 13 on the men's side—will compete with the goal of moving on to the NCAA DI Outdoor Championships in June.
The East First Round meet is scheduled to run Wednesday, May 27 through Saturday, May 30 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky. Men's events will be contested on Wednesday and Friday, with the women competing on Thursday and Saturday.
The top 12 individual qualifiers from each event at each First Round Regional will qualify for NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, making for 24 qualifiers overall per event. Twelve relay teams from each relay event at each Regional will qualify for the Championships.
The NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place June 10-13 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
