Sailing Advances in Open Fleet Race National Championship

On Wednesday, competition in the Eastern Semifinal of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Open Team Race National Championship concluded, as the Big Green finished sixth overall to advance to championship sailing set to begin on Thursday.

**TAMPA, Fla. –**On Wednesday, competition in the Eastern Semifinal of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Open Team Race National Championship concluded, as the Big Green finished sixth overall to advance to championship sailing set to begin on Thursday.

Dartmouth posted a second-best 47 A Division points and 63 B Division points, wrapping semifinal sailing with 110 total points, good for sixth place and a spot in the next round of sailing.

Sailing began early on Wednesday, as teams tried to get the most amount of sailing in as possible following storms on Tuesday. The Big Green sailed in eight total races, three A Division races and five B Division races.

The B Division opened sailing on Wednesday with a 13

thoverall finish before following with a third-place finish, bringing the two divisions even with four total races each.

In the A Division's final three races, they earned two top ten finishes, including capturing the win in their sixth race. They wrapped the day with a sixth place finish.

The B Division earned one top five finish in their final races, finishing fourth in their fifth race. They concluded semifinal sailing wit 15

thplace finishes.

The Big Green will be joined in the championship by Harvard (52), Navy (76), Tulane (90), Boston College (102), Roger Williams (108), St. Mary's (112), Cornell (114), and Connecticut College (125) from the eastern semifinal.

Brown won the western semifinal with 40 total points, followed by Stanford (73), Georgetown (75), Yale (89), Charleston (92), Bowdoin (116), Fordham (124), Penn (131), and Jacksonville (134).
