Middlebury Recognizes 11 Students at Senior Athletic Award Ceremony

The Middlebury Athletics Department recognized 11 student-athletes during the annual Senior Athletic Department Awards ceremony on Tuesday afternoon in Dana Auditorium. Middlebury College President Ian Baucom, Director of Athletics Erin Quinn '86 and Assistant Director of Athletics Katharine DeLorenzo gave remarks at the event. Nordic skier Shea Brams and Alem Muris Hadzic of the men's soccer program were selected as student speakers.

The Middlebury athletic department honored 11 senior student-athletes.

The Middlebury Athletics Department recognized 11 student-athletes during the annual Senior Athletic Department Awards ceremony on Tuesday afternoon in Dana Auditorium. Middlebury College President Ian Baucom, Director of Athletics Erin Quinn '86 and Assistant Director of Athletics Katharine DeLorenzo gave remarks at the event. Nordic skier Shea Brams and Alem Muris Hadzic of the men's soccer program were selected as student speakers.

The following were the 2026 award winners:

A. Bayard Russ '66 Memorial Athletic Award

Britt Nawrocki (Women's Ice Hockey, Women's Lacrosse)

  • She has been a part of three NCAA Championship teams and has appeared in six national tournaments across both sports.

  • Nawrocki served as an alternate captain on the women's ice hockey team this season and helped the team to the 2023-24 NESCAC title.

  • On the ice, the Panther has tallied 60 points (35G, 25A) over 112 games played. She has added 17 goals and eight helpers over 46 games on the lacrosse field.

  • In the classroom, Nawrocki is a five-time NESCAC All-Academic team member and was named to the 2025 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Honor Roll.

Tony Wang (Football, Men's Track and Field)

  • Serving as the team's primary kicker, Wang was a D3football.com All-Region I Second Team Offensive selection and earned a spot on the All-NESCAC Second Team for special teams this season.

  • He was a member of the 2023 NESCAC Championship squad in football.

  • In the spring, Wang represented the navy and white by competing in the long jump and triple jump. He also helped the Panthers win the 2025 league championship.

Deborah Parton '76 Memorial Award

Kristyn Carroll (Softball)

  • Carroll continued to rewrite the program record books this year, becoming the all-time leader in career batting average (.484), at-bats (500), hits (242), runs scored (182), games played (154) and stolen bases (100).

  • The outfielder also reset single-campaign marks with 79 hits, 53 runs scored and 11 triples this season.

  • Carroll was the third player in program history to secure NESCAC Player of the Year, joining Melanie Mandell (2019) and Noelle Ruschil (2022). She also earned all-region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association with a first-team selection.

  • A captain this season, Carroll was named an All-NESCAC First Team honoree for the fourth consecutive campaign. She is the first player in program history to be a first-team selection four times.

  • As a team, the Panthers claimed their second NESCAC title in program history and a school record 35 victories.

  • In 2024, Carroll became the second player to be named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America selection and has earned CSC Academic All-District accolades in each of the last two campaigns.

  • She is a three-time Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and NESCAC All-Academic honoree.

Hazeltine-Klevenow Memorial Trophy

Gavin Randolph (Men's Soccer)

  • Randolph earned all-region recognition from the United Soccer Coaches three times, including a second-team selection this season.

  • The Panther scored 18 goals and added 13 assists over 75 career games.

  • He was named the 2024 NCAA Elite 90 (now Scholar Athlete) Award winner for men's soccer and helped the team to its first NCAA Semifinals appearance since 2007.

  • The midfielder/forward was a 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Second-Team selection and an all-district selection in each of the last three seasons.

  • Randolph has been on the NESCAC All-Academic squad three times.

William Zambito (Football)

  • Zambito started the final 18 games of his career as an anchor on the offensive line.

  • The Panther logged All-NESCAC Second Team Offensive honors after helping lead the conference's third-ranked rushing offense (1,293 yards) and anchoring a unit that paced the NESCAC with 612 rushing attempts.

  • Middlebury had the second-best red-zone conversion rate at 85.3 percent.

  • He was a member of the 2023 NESCAC Championship squad.

  • Zambito secured a CSC Academic All-District selection and was inducted into the Vermont Collegiate Scholar-Athlete Hall of Fame in May.

  • He is also a three-time NESCAC All-Academic honoree.

Caroline Adams (Women's Lacrosse)

  • Adams has served as a captain and part of three NCAA Championship squads.

  • The attacker and draw specialist is a two-time All-American and a three-time IWLCA All-Pilgrim Region First Team honoree.

  • She became the third Panther in a row to earn NESCAC Offensive Player of the Year and logged her third all-conference nod with a spot on the first team.

  • This season, the senior has taken home both IWLCA Offensive and NESCAC Player of the Week awards twice.

  • Adams is the first player in program history to surpass 400 career draw controls, currently sitting with 469. She also leads the team with 68 goals and 41 assists this season.

  • The Panther is a two-time NESCAC All-Academic and IWLCA Division III Honor Roll honoree.

Lindsey Burnham (Women's Squash)

  • Burnham is a captain on the women's squash team.

  • She has been named an All-NESCAC First Team member each of the past four years and qualified for two College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships over her Middlebury career.

  • The Panther helped the squad to a program record 10 consecutive victories and the top seed in the Kurtz Cup during the CSA Team Championships.

  • She closes her career with 35 victories, primarily at the #1 spot.

  • In the classroom, Burnham is a three-time NESCAC All-Academic team member and has been bestowed CSA Scholar Athlete honors twice. She was also named to the conference's all-sportsmanship team this season.

John P. Stabile '40 Memorial Trophy

Mike Ahonen (Football)

  • This season, Ahonen earned an All-NESCAC Second Team Offense nod for the second time after logging career highs in receptions (43) and yards (571).

  • He was named a semifinalist for the 2025 National Football Foundation (NFF) William V. Campbell Trophy.

  • Over 26 career games, the wide receiver caught 112 passes for 1,403 yards and seven touchdowns.

  • The Panther was part of the program's 2023 conference championship squad.

  • Academically, Ahonen was inducted into the NFF Hampshire Honor Society and is a CSC Academic All-District honoree. He is also a two-time conference all-academic selection.

Mike Wilson '57 Trophy

Livia Davidson (Women's Soccer)

  • Davidson served as one of the squad's four captains this season.

  • She posted an 11-4-3 mark with 75 saves and a 0.59 goals against average (GAA) while helping lead the program to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

  • The netminder earned United Soccer Coaches Second-Team All-New England Region and All-NESCAC Second Team accolades this past fall.

  • Davidson closed her career with 13 victories and 196 saves over 1,800 minutes of action.

  • She is a three-time NESCAC All-Academic honoree and a CSC Academic All-District award winner.

Emily Rubio (Women's Track and Field)

  • Rubio served as captain this season.

  • The Panther is a two-time NCAA Indoor All-American in the pentathlon and qualified for five national championships across both indoor and outdoor.

  • She is a nine-time United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region selection and helped the program to NESCAC Championships in 2023 and 2024.

  • She has been named an all-conference selection three times.

  • Over her career, Rubio set the program record in the heptathlon (4,576 points) and pentathlon (3,603 points).

  • She is a CSC Academic All-District and USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree, alongside two all-conference academic team nods.

Murphy Roberts '17 Memorial Award

Sebastian Segre (Alpine Skiing)

  • Segre is a four-year member of the alpine skiing team.

  • The Panther competed in six carnivals this season, posting five top-10 discipline finishes.

  • His top performance of the year came in seventh-place showings in the giant slalom (GS) at St. Lawrence and the University of Vermont carnivals.

  • Segre claimed eighth in the GS and 12th in the slalom to help spearhead the program to a runner-up finish at the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association (EISA) Championships hosted by Middlebury.

  • The Panther is a three-time NESCAC All-Academic honoree.
