Athenas Softball Falls in Twinbill at Cal Lutheran
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The Cal Lutheran softball team won the opening game of a doubleheader 4-1 and then came back from a 5-0 deficit for a 6-5 win in the nightcap as it took two from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday.

With the losses, CMS falls to 13-11-1 on the year, and drops the series after winning 9-0 over Cal Lutheran on Friday behind a no-hitter from
Gaby Robel was 2-for-3 in the opener, and 2-for-4 with three RBI in the nightcap to lead the CMS offense.
Lexie Stinson had an RBI single in the sixth inning of the opener to cut the Cal Lutheran lead to 4-1, but Kylen Mingus was able to get a flyout to leave the bases loaded.
In the nightcap, Robel had an RBI single in the first and a two-run double in the fifth. Stinson added an RBI bunt single in the fourth as CMS went ahead 5-0.
Jessica Waters hit a two-run homer in the sixth to cut the CMS lead to 5-3. The Regals had two outs and nobody on before loading the bases, and Waters was hit by a pitch to make the score 5-4. Sofia Aviles then followed with a two-run single to walk it off.
CMS will be back in action for a three-game series with Redlands on Friday and Saturday.
