Sailing Heads to Fleet Race National Championships

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin Sailing is set to compete at both the Women's Fleet Race and Open Fleet Championships to close out the collegiate season.

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin Sailing is set to compete at both the Women's Fleet Race and Open Fleet Championships to close out the collegiate season.

Both championships will be hosted by the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg, Florida. The women compete first May 15-18 and Open races run from May 19-22.

The women's semifinals consist of two days of racing with the top nine teams from each division advancing to the finals.

Kyra Phelan,

Lauren Russler, and

Rebecca Schill will skipper for the event. Izzy Tsuchitori,

Maizie Bartlett, Mairéad Reitzel,

Posie Cabaniss,

Ava Tobias,

Maggie Tripp, and Kai Olson will travel as crew.

The Open Fleet Race Championship begins with the semifinals running May 19-20. The top nine teams from the semis will advance to compete in the two-day finals. Phelan will be joined by

Michelangelo Vecchio,

Ethan Danielson,

Lucca Antonietti, and

Ryan Keenan as skippers. Tsuchitori, Bartlett, Reitzel,

Kique Ruiz,

Riley Donahue,

Hazel Johnson, and

Elizabeth Wire will crew.
