WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The College Sports Communicators announced their 2026 Academic All-District Team for women's tennis today with three student-athletes from Williams College being recognized — senior Mia Thomann along with juniors Ali Lin and Julia Zhang. Each of the three received the honor for a second straight year.

An economics and psychology double major from Chicago, Illinois, Thomann played primarily at No. 1 in singles and No. 2 doubles for the Ephs this spring. The two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete finished the season 7-13 in singles play — including a win in her first match at No. 1 against an opponent from then-16th-ranked Swarthmore — and 11-9 in doubles. For her career, Thomann has 31 singles victories to her credit and 40 more in doubles action.

Lin is another two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and hails from New York City, majoring in psychology. During the spring, she worked her way up to No. 1 doubles, posting a 9-8 overall record (4-3 at No. 1), to go with a 4-3 mark in singles. In the NCAA Tournament, Lin played at No. 4 singles for the first time and quickly dispatched her SUNY New Paltz opponent, 6-0, 6-1.

A native of Bellvue, Washington, Zhang is a double major in biology and economics who was 12-6 in singles action and 9-8 in doubles, playing almost exclusively with Lin. She was at her best at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, going a combined 12-3. Like Thomann and LIn, Zhang is a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete.

To be considered for Academic All-District honors, a tennis student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have played in at least 75 percent of their team's scored events. The Academic All-America team will be announced on June 2.

Williams finished the 2025-26 season with a 12-9 record and is currently ranked 22nd as a team.
