PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Ivy League office released their weekly awards on Wednesday, with University of Pennsylvania senior

Jade Montgomery being named Player of the Week.

Montgomery batted .727 (8-for-11) with four doubles, one home run, and two RBI while breaking the Penn single season record in doubles (17). She is on an eleven-game hit streak, with the most recent five being multi-hit games, while keeping Penn in the postseason picture.

The senior first baseman is having a career year in her final year in University City. She is hitting .395 with 17 doubles, seven home runs, 31 RBI, and a 1.162 OPS, all of which would be career highs by a significant margin.

Montgomery's play is a large part as to why the Quakers are firmly in the Ivy League Tournament picture. The Quakers sit a half game back of Brown for the final spot, with the final series being against the Bears.
