The Wesleyan men's rowing team achieved a remarkable runner-up finish at the IRA Division III National Championship, narrowly missing the title by just 0.15 seconds against Trinity College. The Grand Final showcased an intense battle, with the Cardinals pushing hard in the final stretch but ultimately falling short. This thrilling conclusion marks a significant achievement for Wesleyan, which had previously claimed the national title in 2024. Earlier in the competition, both the Varsity 8 and the Second Varsity 8 secured their spots in the Grand Finals after strong performances in the preliminary heats, setting the stage for a dramatic championship race.
In track and field, both the men's and women's teams received significant recognition for their performances during the outdoor season. The men's team garnered a total of 23 awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association and the New England Cross Country and Track & Field Association, with six athletes earning double honors. Meanwhile, the women's team concluded their season with 15 awards, highlighting the depth of talent within both programs. These accolades reflect the hard work and dedication of the athletes throughout the season and set a strong foundation for future competitions.
