The University of Rochester men's squash team continues to shine, capturing the Liberty League conference title and earning a slew of individual accolades. First-year player Gilberto Aceves Moreno was named Rookie of the Year, while the coaching staff, led by Matt Dukarm and Omar Zakaria, received Coaching Staff of the Year honors. Aceves Moreno, along with junior Dhirren Rajarathinam and sophomore Thomas Valderrama, were named to the First Team All-League, with sophomore Karim Moataz securing a spot on the Second Team. These honors underscore a successful season for the Yellowjackets, who have established themselves as a formidable force in the league.
In men's basketball, senior guard Tomiwa Adetosoye received Second-Team All-District 3 honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Adetosoye, a key player for the Yellowjackets, averaged 17.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game, ranking in the top-100 nationally in several statistical categories. His performance this season also earned him Second-Team All-UAA and USBWA First-Team All-Rochester Area honors.
Additionally, senior guard Corvin Oprea was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 3 Third-Team. Oprea led the team with an average of 17.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, showcasing his scoring prowess with multiple high-scoring games, including a 40-point performance on Senior Day. His contributions were pivotal to the team's competitive season, marking him as one of the top players in Region 3.
