The Washington and Lee University women's basketball team concluded a remarkable season with a hard-fought appearance in the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals. The Generals, ranked third nationally, overcame an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat 23rd-ranked Bethel University (Minn.) 75-67 in the Round of 16. This victory extended their winning streak to 31 games, the longest in program history. However, their journey ended in the quarterfinals with a 77-64 loss to eighth-ranked Denison University. The game, played in front of a packed Holekamp Gym, featured six lead changes and eight ties, highlighting the competitive spirit of the Generals throughout the season.
In wrestling, Washington and Lee celebrated a significant achievement as sophomore Liam Flanagan earned All-America honors with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Flanagan's performance included victories over top competitors, securing his place in the championship semifinals. His success marks the ninth All-America honor in the program's history. The Generals sent a record five wrestlers to the national tournament, reflecting a strong season that saw them finish fourth at the NCAA Region IV Championships. Other notable performances included Skyler Hickman at 141 pounds, who recorded multiple wins in the consolation bracket.
