Brown University's women's hockey team has enjoyed a week of accolades and recognition, underscoring a successful season on the ice. Monique Lyons and Isabella Gratzl have both been named to the Second Team All-Ivy, marking the first time since 2005-06 that Brown has had two players earn this distinction. Lyons, a forward, concluded Ivy League play with five goals and three assists, while Gratzl, a freshman defender, added two goals and four assists. India McDadi also received Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors, tying Lyons with eight points in league play.
Adding to the team's achievements, Jade Iginla was named Third Team All-ECAC, becoming the first Bear to earn such recognition since the 2013-14 season. Iginla, who has been a standout performer, finished the season with 14 goals and 15 assists, including a seven-game point streak that saw her collect eight goals and six assists. Her performance has moved her into 22nd place on Brown's all-time scoring list with 95 career points.
Sam Broz was named ECAC Forward of the Week following her pivotal role in Brown's 7-2 victory over Dartmouth in the ECAC Opening Round. Broz contributed two goals and an assist, showcasing her offensive prowess and helping to secure a decisive win for the Bears.
On the men's side, Brown University has announced the appointment of Tom Upton as the new head coach for men's hockey. Upton, who brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, is set to lead the program into its next chapter. His proven track record in developing talent and achieving competitive success makes him a promising addition to the Bears' coaching staff.
