The University of Pennsylvania's heavyweight and lightweight rowing teams concluded their seasons at the IRA National Championships in Gold River, California, with several commendable performances. The heavyweight 1V8 crew secured first place in the petite final, while the 3V8 crew finished second in their race. The lightweight 4V+ crew stood out by claiming gold with a time of 6:40.12, becoming the IRA Lightweight 4+ champions for 2026. Additionally, the 2V8 crew earned a silver medal, and the heavyweight 4V+ crew also took home silver, rounding out a successful regatta for both teams.
In track and field, the University of Pennsylvania’s women’s team wrapped up the NCAA East Prelims in Lexington, Kentucky, with Jessica Oji and Lily Murphy qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Their performances were complemented by the men’s team, where Kampton Kam and Ryan Matulonis also secured spots at the NCAA Championships. Matulonis advanced to the quarterfinals in the 400m hurdles, showcasing the depth of talent within the program. The NCAA Outdoor Championships are set to take place in the coming weeks, providing another opportunity for these athletes to excel on a national stage.
