The Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team concluded its season with notable achievements, as junior Eleanor Archer and sophomore Caitlin Bui, ranked No. 1 nationally, reached the NCAA Division III Individual Semifinals before falling to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Their match ended in a decisive 6-0, 6-0 loss, concluding a season in which they amassed a 27-9 record. Additionally, senior Eliana Hanna and sophomore Ally Lin, ranked No. 10, lost in the semifinals to Babson's No. 4 team, finishing their season with a 29-6 record. All four players earned All-American honors, marking a historic moment for the program with multiple doubles teams reaching the national semifinals for the first time since 2002. Coach Erin Swaller was also recognized as the ITA Assistant Coach of the Year, while Amber Edmonds received the ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award, both firsts for the Bears.
In softball, junior pitcher Maria Brooks garnered further recognition by being named a First Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. This accolade follows a stellar season where Brooks posted an 18-2 record and led the University Athletic Association with a 1.32 earned-run average. Her impressive performance throughout the season included being named UAA Pitcher of the Year and earning multiple other honors, marking a significant achievement for the program with back-to-back All-America selections for the first time in over a decade.
The WashU track and field teams also celebrated success as 19 members of the women's team and 12 from the men's team were named USTFCCCA All-Region. This recognition comes just before the NCAA Outdoor Championships, underscoring the depth of talent within the program. Notable selections included sophomore Quinn Bird in both the 200m and 400m, and senior Jenae Bothe in shot put for the women's team. The men's team also showcased strong performances, with several athletes earning All-Region honors across various events, highlighting the competitive nature of WashU athletics as they prepare for the upcoming championships.
