The MIT women's track and field team concluded its season with a tenth-place finish at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, marking the fourth consecutive year the Engineers have placed in the top ten. On the final day of competition, the team achieved five top-ten finishes, highlighted by Amalia Christina Toutziaridi earning All-America first team honors with a sixth-place finish in the high jump. Hailey Surace also shone, claiming national runner-up honors in the pole vault earlier in the championships. Krystal Montgomery and Shreya Kalyan advanced to the finals in the 800 meters and 400 meters, respectively, contributing to the team's overall success.
The MIT men's track and field team also had a strong showing at the NCAA Championships, with Jonah Goldstein earning All-America honors in the javelin. Jared Steins and David Whitaker secured sixth and seventh places in the finals of the 800-meter run, respectively. Earlier in the meet, Anthony Meng earned All-America second team honors in the high jump, while Owen Sondag led the team on the opening day with a strong performance in the 10,000 meters.
In women's tennis, Saina Deshpande's season came to an end in the second round of the NCAA Division III Singles Championship. Competing in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Deshpande's appearance marked the fifth consecutive year that MIT reached the second round of the tournament.
The MIT softball team earned recognition for its academic achievements, placing nine student-athletes on the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team. Similarly, the baseball team celebrated the academic success of 17 student-athletes who received the same honors, demonstrating the commitment of both teams to excellence in the classroom.
In women's lacrosse, Ashley Thomas and Pauline Vien were named to the IWLCA All-America Third Team, marking a historic moment for the program with multiple selections for the first time. The men's lacrosse team also excelled academically, receiving a league-high 23 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference awards, while Garrett Campagna earned All-America Honorable Mention accolades from the USILA.
As the academic year closes, both track and field teams lead their respective conferences with 37 and 32 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honors, underscoring MIT's dual commitment to athletics and academics.
