The Brown open sailing team capped off a remarkable season by winning the Western Semifinal and subsequently claiming the ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship in St. Petersburg, Florida. This victory marks the program's first national title since 1948, a significant achievement that underscores the team's growth and competitive spirit.
In track and field, six individuals and the women’s 4x100 meter relay team from Brown have qualified for the NCAA East Region First Round. This event, hosted by the University of Kentucky from May 27 to May 30, will showcase the talents of these athletes as they aim to advance further in the national competition.
The Brown women's rowing team, ranked ninth, earned several All-Ivy honors following a third-place finish at the 2026 Ivy Championships held in Pennsauken, New Jersey. This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of the Varsity Eight, who have consistently performed at a high level throughout the season.
In men's lacrosse, senior Marcus Wertheim has been named a Third Team All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). This accolade highlights Wertheim's outstanding contributions to the team during the season and adds to Brown's legacy in the sport.
Meanwhile, the Brown women's water polo team celebrated three of its athletes receiving Honorable Mention All-America honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). Alexandra Love, Madeleine Poissonnier, and Cleo Washer each earned this recognition for their impressive performances throughout the season, with Love leading the team in goals and assists.
As the academic year draws to a close, Brown's athletic teams continue to demonstrate excellence both in competition and in their academic pursuits, as evidenced by the recent recognition of Lucy Adams, Tom Griffin, and Olivia Marie Baptiste at the Campus Life Awards Ceremony, where they received prestigious awards for their achievements as student-athletes.
